The Deluxe Blues Members
Ian Wilks
Vocals & Harmonica
Ian has always had a driving vocal style and passion for that hard edged harp valve tone. He has had a history of playing with some fantastic Blues musicians included The Spirits Blues Band, Brother Goose, The Rocking Rhythm Cats and The Summerland Band.
Ian found Chris McKelvie late in 2020 during the Covid lockdown and their collaboration on Deluxe Blues has created a very unique electric blues show that has all the hallmarks of electric Chicago Blues with a funky accent that is almost hypnotic!
Chris McKelvie
Lead Guitar
Chris brings decades of experience and a great passion for the electric funk genre; he spent over five years with his own funk outfit in Melbourne after which he was playing five nights a week in Cairns as a "guitarist for hire".
This time around Chris is driving Deluxe Blues as his own band - the material and production has definitely developed from Chris' passion for great tone and shared interest with the other band members for absolute groove! An accomplished player with outstanding ability and absolute dedication!
Greg Lindner
Vocals & Drums
Greg's drive and passion is and has always been Blues; his vocals have always been really strong as has his drumming style. Greg loves open handed shuffling and has fallen into the Blues Funk idiom - he is always confident and comfortable behind his kit.
Greg has worked together with Ian over three decades as a founding member of The Spirits Blues Band (circa 1988) - his experience and dedication are beyond reproach.
Tim Finnigan
Bass Guitar
Tim is the bass man that is so well known for his catchphrase "Magic Happens!" He has ended up on so many tours through "bass man for hire" situations and equally on many leading artist's albums; because Tim makes it happen every time he picks up the bass - upright or electric.
Deluxe Blues is Tim's own band and he is loving the material which is evident every time Tim plays!
